AX 2009 is now RTM (Release To Manufacturing). Please check link at Partnersource to download.The Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 download is a full install and required for new installations or upgrades from previous versions. Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 supports upgrades from Microsoft Dynamics AX 3.0 Service Pack 4 (or higher) or Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0 Service Pack 1 (or higher).

Today Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 is RTM. This means DVDs are now being mass produced, and the product is available for download at Partner Source.

My favorite features in DAX2009:

• Brand new UI: List pages, role centers, crumb-bar, activity centers and ribbons.
• Improved performance. Especially I like the near-instantly startup of the clients.
• Workflow support.
• Improved reporting and BI facilties; powered by SSRS.
• Enhanced developer experienced: TFS integration, XML documentation, ER diagrams, CLR interop and much more.
• New suite of tools for code upgrade.

We started this journey two years back and yesterday was a historical day when the product was RTM'ed. Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 is available now for download from Partner Sourcehttps://mbs.microsoft.com/partnersou...009release.htm.

This is a significant release with tons of new app & framework features with solid tighter integration to Microsoft platform technologies. The team size almost doubled in all three locations during this release and it was a phenomenal immersing experience working across three different sites/time zones and working with various disciplines in my product feature areas from the idea/conceptual state and taking it to a real shippable end product state.
You will see an awesome looking Enterprise Portal using ASP.net AJAX . You can do amazing things with this powerful ASP.net based EP framework and VS.net development tools . You can take advantage of greater user interface interactivity and responsiveness through the use of Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (AJAX) and ASP.NET and build rich web applications. In this release performance and throughput has increased many fold and setup is made simpler.

Role Centers deliver on the promise of providing Role Tailored user experience and is very unique to Microsoft Dynamics products. Role Centers brings the power of many Microsoft products and technologies together (WSS, MOSS, SSRS, SSAS, ASP.net, AJAX) to Microsoft Dynamics AX. Role Centers in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 provide an overview of the work relevant to job-specific roles, empowering them to make quick decisions and take actions and helping people to prioritize and plan their activities. They can monitor , analyze business performance with actionable BI displayed in the Role Center in the form key performance indicators (KPIs) , charts and reports and seamlessly drilldown to details and transactions.

Admittedly I'm pretty biased - however, this isn't a case of brainwashing....THIS REALLY IS A FANTASTIC RELEASE! It makes me want to be an accountant over again........if I only I could do then with another ERP solution that will go un-named that I can do with AX 2009. I'd have been a very happy bunny :0)

As the name of the post suggest, the next version of Dynamics AX, Dynamics AX 2009 (formely known as DAX 5.0) as been released. This is has happened ahead of schedule that expected (and as earilier reported) which is a great thing for a software package. To be released before the targeted date.

So with all of this great press coverage, what more can someone say about the release of Dynamics AX 2009? Honestly, a lot more! To start it off, we are just now starting this, and we have so much to go over like:

• Whats new technically for Dynamics AX 2009
• How to take advantage of the new technial features in DAX 2009
• What are some of the under the cover improvements to the solution, and what does that mean for customers
• etc. etc. etc.

We have a whole list of things that we have to start covering, as well as how different products from the rest of the newly released stack of offerings, likes SQL Server 2008, MOSS 2007, SilverLight, .Net 3.0, Web Parts, Web Services, Mobile Development, All how they fit into this wonderful application product that sits on top of the Microsoft Business Stack called Dynamics AX.
