Question 2 - There are two projects shipped with Ax2009, which are containing all needed OLAP reports for Role Centers - one for Oracle and one for SQL and all config keys are needed in this case. In general (from my experience) there shouldn't be any issues to build "template" BI projects based on Ax perspectives and then re-design the cube to make it more domain/role/report efficient by adding needed dimensions/calculated members/named queries e.g. usual SSAS stuff + MDX queries from SSRS report side.
