In a previous post we had a look at different patterns in vendor setup. When looking at different ways to model and report on your suppliers you could look at using the chain field if you want a simple linking between the vendors.
It’s a self definable field meaning you can make up the name and description so if you are doing to use it heavily then you might want to agree on a naming convention for your organization. This field is shared with the customer record so if you are going to use chain for both customers and suppliers then you want to be careful about how you create the names to make them meaningful.
