Hello,

Here is the background: I'm trying to merge the menu 'Basic' from the GLS layer with our BUP layer. There is a submenu 'Foregn trade' is GLS, which I want to insert into BUP.

I used the comparison tool on the menu. I seleced the node 'Reports' and tried to click onto the button 'Paste into' (see the fig. 1).
(1) My first question/compliant: why should I click onto the button twice?

(2) After having clicked the button (twice !) I got the mess shown on the fig. 2. What the hell?!


Then I tried another approach. I selected the node Reports->Foreign trade itself and clicked the button... yes, twice (see the fig. 3).

(3) It looked as if the system inserted the submenu correctly (fig. 4). But then I saved and restored the menu 'Basic'. The submenu wasn't really inserted into the BUP layer!

(4) And, finally, here is my last compliant. On particular objects in the AOT, the 'Comparision' form opens too slowly. Try it on the table 'SalesTable'. It takes several seconds (up to 10!) to fill the comboboxes in the upper part of the form.

All this does work in 3.0; it's really annoying and I lose much time. Please eliminate the errors and increase the performance. I'd like to have a hotfix for the comparison tool.

As agreed I've done some further collaboration and research and found out that a similar issue has already been reported to the development and there is a request for hotfix. The reference number to the Product Studio case Vedbaek SE #22632. So I'm working on how to alert you when the hot fix is ready. I'll let you know.

I've been around the Product Studio case Vedbaek SE #22632 and it seems as we already have a hotfix for the issue. I've send the fix to you by a separate mail, please perform some test and let me know if it helps. Looking forward to hear from you.

Dear Mansour,

Thank you for this interesting hotfix. It must be resolving hundreds of errors, but, unfortunately, NONE of mine.

Actually, this hotfix have nothing to do with the comparison tool as the main class SysCompare hasn't been changed in this DIS layer at all. You could have easily found it out, if you'd tried the hotfix.

Thank you very much for your feedback and I'm really sorry if the test has caused any inconveniences for you. However the hotfix does fix the issues as described in point 2) and 3). This is stated on the Product Studio case Vedbaek SE #22632 fix description, but please allow me some more time to investigate and do some collaboration with the escalation engineer who has the ownership of the Product Studio and I'll let you know.
