== Introduction ==
''Online Maps'' is a handy little toy that Microsoft have added to their Dynamics NAV product in Version 5.00. It operates by placing a pushpin icon on selected forms, and allows the user to access maps of a location using [http://maps.msn.com/ MSN Online Maps] by clicking the pushpin. Its usefulness is limited slightly in that the map provider is internet based and so the NAV client must have an active connection to the internet in order to produce maps.

== Set Up ==
Online Map setup can be found on the Administration menu, under:

*'''Application Setup''' -> '''General''' -> '''Online Map Setup'''.

Upon first use, the setup form will be empty apart from a few defaults. Before filling in anything in this form, it is advisable to click on the Parameter Setup button and filling in the information for Online Map Parameter Setup.

The Online Map Parameter Setup form allows the entry of the various websites and regions for MSN Maps around the globe. Memorising this information or filling in from a printed list of websites is a fairly tedious task, so Microsoft have included a button which will fill in the default values for this form. Pressing the button labelled Insert Default will, after a confirmation if the table is not empty, populate the Online Map Parameter with values that Microsoft has hardcoded into the Navision client.

Tip:
If nothing happens when Insert Default is selected from the Online Parameter Setup
form, the likely reason is because there is nothing in the Language and Country/Region tables.
These tables are usually empty if the Database was previously upgraded from an early
version of NAV and the Company did not require information to be filled in on the
Country/Region Code field (usually because their customers and suppliers were all local).

== Displaying Maps ==
Before the Online Map becomes visible, the default language has to have been set up in the previous section. Once this has been done, the previously hidden pushpin icon becomes visible on the following forms:
*Company Information (1)
*Customer Card (21)
*Vendor Card (26)
*Resource Card (76)
*Job Card (88)
*Ship-to Address (300)
*Bank Account Card (370)
*Contact Card (5050)
*Employee Card (5200)
*Location Card (5703)
