The Print preview function in NAV allows the user to print a report directly to the screen instead of to paper. There are a few quirks to this function that need to be explained to and understood by Navision users.

==Limitation on printing from Print Preview==
Once the print preview is launched, a command in C/SIDE
CurrReport.PREVIEW
if this command is triggered anywhere in C/SIDE code whilst the report is running, NAV disables the ability to then print the report to paper. This is very sensible and logical, but often misunderstood.

In simple terms the command is only called if the developer wished to run code differently if the user printed to screen or to paper. The two most obvious issues are Check printing and Print counts.

When printing a check, it is critical that the output actually goes to paper, since number sequences are generated, and statuses are changed in the system once the check is created. Also in NAV many [[Header table]]s have a counter field to indicate how many times a document was printed. We don't want to increment the counter unless the report went to paper.

So because NAV can not know what the developer was thinking, the logic is that if the developer wants to run different code according to whether the report went to paper or screen, the user needs to specifically run the report in each mode seperately.
