Некоторые считают что проблема в msi.dll что похоже на правду но не факт что у всех одинаково из-за версий.
Также возможен конфликт с установочными файлами между 2012 и 2012R2. Все верно.
Иначе как шаманством не назовешь. Пора вместо всяких MCT звание сертифицированных шаманов присваивать. Кстати это вариант с бубном к клиенту приехать
